And just like that, the Knicks have stolen home-court advantage.
New York came into San Antonio for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on an 11-game win streak — and it took that streak to 12.
After trailing by as many as 14, the Knicks stormed back in the third quarter and won a back-and-forth tussle behind 30 points from Jalen Brunson.
The unsung hero of Game 1 for New York was Josh Hart, who finished the evening with 15 clutch rebounds, six assists four steals. He was a +22 in 27 minutes.
The Spurs' starting guards struggled in this one, with De'Aaron Fox and Devin Vassell combining to score 16 points on 7-for-24 shooting. In fact, San Antonio as a whole shot poorly from the field, converting on just 32 of 89 field-goal attempts (36%).
The Spurs also shot 11-for-43 from beyond the arc.
