Magnitude 6.0 earthquake shakes Peru

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake rattled southern Peru Thursday, the US Geological Survey reported.

The USGS said it struck at 11:03am local time, about 402 miles southeast of the capital, Lima.

The epicenter was at a depth of 62 miles.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
