Ohio father pleads guilty to killing infant son with thrown coffee mug intended to hit mom

An Ohio man accused of throwing a coffee mug that hit and killed his 2-month-old son has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Thirty-four-year-old Anthony Grove also pleaded guilty Wednesday to child endangering and was sentenced to eight years in prison. Grove was originally charged with murder.

Authorities have said Grove threw a ceramic mug at Zeeland Grove's mother during an argument while she held the infant at their home in Canton on Feb. 9. The woman took the baby and two other children to her mother's home in Akron and called 911. Grove was charged the following day after the baby died at a hospital.

Grove's attorney couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
