Florianopolis, Brazil (SportsNetwork.com) - Last week's Rio de Janeiro runner-up Klara Zakopalova was an easy second-round winner Wednesday at the Brasil Tennis Cup.
The third-seeded Czech leveled French qualifier Alize Lim 6-3, 6-3 at this week's clay court event. Zakopalova will face Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru in Thursday's quarterfinals.
Top-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez-Navarro also moved on with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) decision over Kiki Bertens. The match was briefly delayed in the second set due to rain.
Meanwhile, fifth-seeded reigning Florianopolis champion Monica Niculescu drubbed qualifier Danka Kovinic of Montenegro 6-3, 6-1 and a Day 4 upset came when Belgian qualifier Alison Van Uytvanck took out eighth-seeded Argentine Paula Ormaechea 6-2, 6-2.
Another result saw Dulgheru dismiss Brazil's own Teliana Pereira 7-5, 6-2.
