Jarvis Williams scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Tuesday to lead Murray State to a 68-49 win over Middle Tennessee.

Cameron Payne scored 13 and had six assists for the Racers (1-1).

Williams scored 10 points and had 11 rebounds in last Friday's 77-74 loss to Houston.

The Racers outshot the Blue Raiders 48.2 percent to 18.2 percent from the field, but Middle Tennessee made 24 of 25 free throws.

Jacques Rozier led the Blue Raiders (1-1) with 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Reggie Upshaw added 11 points.

The Blue Raiders led 18-17, but the Racers replied with an 11-2 run and led 37-25 at halftime.

Payne hit two 3-pointers in Murray State's 11-4 run to open the second half. Williams hit three straight buckets in a 10-2 run the Racers used to finish the game.
