Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Prior to Friday's game against the Yankees, the Chicago White Sox recalled infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte.

Sanchez takes the roster spot of second baseman Gordon Beckham, who was traded to the Angels on Thursday for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

The 22-year-old Sanchez was hitting .293 with 19 doubles, 57 RBI, 60 runs scored and 16 stolen bases in 110 games with Charlotte this season. He has played in 64 games at second base, 44 at shortstop and two at third.

Sanchez made his MLB debut with the White Sox on July 13 at Cleveland as the starting shortstop, going 0-for-5.
