Chicago, IL – The Chicago White Sox placed pitcher Jesse Crain on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a right posterior shoulder strain and recalled fellow righty Deunte Heath from Triple-A Charlotte.
Crain's move to the DL is retroactive to June 24, a day after he threw two- thirds of an inning against Milwaukee. He is 2-1 with a 2.38 ERA in 24 games this season and also spent time on the DL with a strained left oblique.
Heath, 26, was 4-2 with a 1.70 ERA in 22 games with Charlotte, including three starts. He has never pitched in the majors.
