The Slovakian Football Association confirmed on Monday that national team manager Vladimir Weiss has been terminated by mutual agreement.

Weiss had a contract that ran until 2014, but a brief statement on the organization's website confirmed the departure of Weiss.

"Jan Kovacik (SFA president) and Vladimir Weiss have signed an agreement to terminate the contractual relationship."

The 47-year-old Weiss took charge of the national team in June 2008 and guided Slovakia to the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup.

However, the team failed to qualify for this summer's European Championship after finishing fourth in a group that included Russia, the Republic of Ireland and Armenia.
