Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - PSG midfielder Marco Verratti signed a one-year contract extension with the club on Monday, tying him to the French champions until 2019.

The 21-year-old joined PSG from Italian side Pescara in 2012, and he has gone on to make 88 appearances for the team in all competitions.

"When I think about my career, I only see myself at Paris Saint-Germain. I want to continue winning trophies with this club, while continuing to improve as a footballer alongside truly world-class players," Verratti said.

The Italian midfielder has helped PSG win five trophies during his time in the French capital, including back-to-back Ligue 1 crowns in the past two seasons.
