Chris De La Rosa scored 23 points to help Maryland-Baltimore County defeat Boston University 71-67 in America East Conference action on Monday night.

The Retrievers (2-16, 1-4) trailed 64-55 with 4:45 left to play before two free throws from Adrian Satchell and a 3-pointer by Laurence Jolicoeur cut UMBC's deficit to 64-60.

De La Rosa hit a 3 and Justin Fry made two free throws to tie the score at 67 with 1:12 remaining.

Satchell, who finished with 11 points, scored the final four to seal the win for the Retrievers, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

UMBC led 16-3 after a 3-pointer from Jamar Wertz with 14:14 left in the first half, but Boston scored eight straight to pull within five, 16-11, less than 2 minutes later.

John Holland scored 24 points for the Terriers (8-11, 3-2). Darryl Partin added 18 and Matt Griffin 15.
