Uggla nearly kept his red-hot stretch going in the fifth inning when he sent a fly ball into shallow right field, but Chicago second baseman Darwin Barney made a diving catch to deny the hit.
Uggla finished 0-for-3 with a sacrifice-fly for his first hit-less game in over a month.
Uggla's run helped him turn around his hitting struggles. He was batting just .173 at the start of the streak but has now rocketed his average up to .231.
He also has 27 home runs this season for the Braves (70-51) who are leading the National League Wild Card race.
