Twente had won its first three games by a combined score of 8-1 and the club started quickly with Bryan Ruiz scoring in the first minute.
Ahmed Musaab equalized in the 26th minute for Venlo, but De Jong scored two minutes later before Marc Janko extended the lead on the half-hour mark.
De Jong found the net for a second time in the 66th, giving him three goals on the season and leaving Venlo with two points from four games.
RKC Waalwijk 2, NAC 1
Waalwijk, Netherlands - RKC Waalwijk won its second straight match on Saturday, beating NAC, 2-1.
Evander Sno's 11th-minute goal stood up until the 86th minute, when Adil Auassar doubled the lead.
Anthony Lurling got NAC on the scoreboard in the 90th minute, but it wasn't enough to prevent the club from suffering its third loss of the season.
NEC 2, Heracles 1
Nijmegen, Netherlands - NEC used a pair of early goals to hold off Heracles, 2-1.
Goals from Lasse Schone and Nick Van der Velden in the first eight minutes put NEC in control, while Heracles pulled one back before halftime through Glynor Plet, but was unable to find a second goal, suffering its first loss of the campaign.
Utrecht 3, Roda 1
Utrecht, Netherlands - Roda was handed its third successive defeat on Saturday, losing 3-1 to Utrecht.
Mads Junker had Roda in front after 37 minutes, but Thomas Oar equalized shortly before the break.
Utrecht then claimed its first win of the season with second-half tallies from Rodney Sneijder and Jacob Mulenga.
