GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Josh Tomlin struck out five in four scoreless innings, helping the Cleveland Indians beat a Milwaukee Brewers split squad 4-2 on Sunday.

Tomlin struck out the side in his last inning, continuing his strong bid for the fifth spot in Cleveland's rotation.

Brewers starter Wily Peralta struggled with his control, giving up three runs and four hits in 3 1-3 innings. In the second inning, he walked two batters in a row and then hit Matt Carson with a pitch.

The Brewers scored two runs in the ninth inning off Travis Banwart on a Garrett Cooper single and a Hainley Statia groundout that brought Cooper home.

Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera started for the second day in a row. He had two hits and scored a run.
