Liverpool, England – Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has signed a long-term contract to remain at Anfield, the club announced on Friday.
Sterling turned 18 earlier this month and since making his debut against Wigan in March, has become a regular under manager Brendan Rodgers.
The contract is believed to run until 2017 and it secures a key piece of Liverpool's future.
"It's every 18-year-old's dream," Sterling said of signing his new contract. "I'm just really grateful to be at such a big club like this. There's a lot more to be done.
"I haven't begun yet, as the manager has said. Hopefully I can kick on after the New Year and try to do my best for the team and the football club."
Sterling has started 16 league matches for the Reds this season, scoring one goal and assisting on two others, while he also earned his first cap for England in November against Sweden, making him the fifth youngest player to feature for the Three Lions.
