Sao Paulo, Brazil – Sao Paulo signed defender Bruno Cortes year contract Thursday from Brazilian rival Botafogo.
The 24-year-old Cortes enjoyed a breakout year with Botafogo, and was handed a call-up by Brazil during the year as well. He has made one appearance for his national team.
"It's a joy to come to Sao Paulo," Cortes told Sao Paulo's website. "The staff is very qualified and senior management team always sets up to be champion. My goal is to work hard to establish myself in the team selection and return to win titles."
Sao Paulo finished sixth in the recently completed Brasileiro.
