Augsburg, Germany – Sidney Sam scored two goals to lead Bayer 1 win over Augsburg on Friday in the Bundesliga.
Hajime Hosogai scored inside five minutes for newly-promoted Augsburg, but Sam answered in the sixth and Leverkusen was in front before the half-hour mark as Stefan Kiessling scored in the 23rd.
Sam completed his double in the 72nd, and Eren Derdiyok added the last goal in the 79th as Leverkusen moved to the top of the standings ahead of the weekend matches.
Leverkusen has three wins and a tie from five games. Augsburg remained winless this season with three losses and two ties and sits just one point out of last in the table.
