Candon Rusin came off the bench to score 14 points as Vermont came back from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat New Hampshire 61-42 Saturday in the America East Conference quarterfinals.

The second-seeded Catamounts (20-10), who trailed 26-20 at halftime, used a 27-3 run to build a 49-33 lead with 7:53 remaining. The victory was their 25th over the seventh-seeded Wildcats (9-20) in their last 29 meetings.

After shooting just 26.9 percent (7 of 26) in the first half, the Catamounts shot 58.3 percent (14 of 24) in the second, while New Hampshire dropped off from 50 percent (10 of 20) to 17.4 percent (4 of 23). Vermont is 14-0 this season when holding opponents below 60 points.

Sandro Carissimo scored 10 points for Vermont, which also got nine from Clancy Rugg and eight apiece from Ethan O'Day and Trey Blue.

Ferg Myrick scored 15 points and Patrick Konan 12 for New Hampshire.
