New Jersey-born Guiseppe Rossi scored a pair of goals, raising his season total to 16, as Villarreal rallied to beat Valencia 4-2 and advance to the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey.

Following a 0-0 tie in the first leg last month, Valencia built a 2-0 lead on goals by Ever Banega and Roberto Soldado.

The Yellow Submarine tied it when Santi Cazorla streaked into the penalty area to convert Rossi's pass in the 47th, and Rossi scored two minutes later on a penalty kick after Marius Stankevicius brought down Marco Ruben. Ruben scored in the 63rd after Cani's one-two with Rossi, who added the final goal in injury time.

Villarreal plays defending champion Sevilla in the quarterfinals. Real Betis beat Getafe 3-1 and advanced on 4-3 aggregate to a quarterfinal with Barcelona. Atletico Madrid defeated Espanyol on 2-1 aggregate after a 1-1 tie on a Sergio Aguero goal. It will play rival Real Madrid, which with an 8-0 lead from the first leg rested most of its regulars in a 2-0 loss to Levante. The hosts got a penalty kick from Xisco Munoz and a goal by Sergio Gonzalez; Kaka entered in the 57th for Real Madrid in his second game since returning from knee surgery.

Almeria scored four first-half goals in a 4-3 win at Mallorca to advance 8-6. Almeria will play Deportivo La Coruna.

ROME (AP) — Leonardo's won his debut as Inter Milan coach with a 3-1 victory over visiting Napoli, first-place AC Milan opened a five-point lead with a 1-0 win at Cagliari as Juventus lost 4-1 to Parma — its worst home league loss in 44 years — as the Italian Serie A resumed following its holiday break.

Thiago Motta scored twice in Inter's first match since Leonardo replaced Rafa Benitez, and the defending Serie A champion won in the league for the first time since November.

Thiago Motta put Inter in front with a volley from the edge of the area three minutes in at the San Siro. After Michele Pazienza equalized for Napoli in the 25th, Esteban Cambiasso restored Inter's lead with a soaring header in the 37th and Thiago Motta scored with a header off a corner kick in the 55th. Inter (7-4-5) is seventh with 26 points.

AC Milan (12-3-3), which has 39 points, won as newly signed Antonio Cassano set up Rodney Strasser's 85th-minute goal, his first in Serie A.

Second-place Lazio (10-4-4) was held to a 0-0 draw at Genoa. Napoli (10-5-3) has 33 points, one more than AS Roma, which defeated visiting Catania 4-2.

Juventus (8-3-7), which has 31 points, sustained its most one-sided home league loss since a 4-0 defeat to Torino in a 1967 derby. Sebastian Giovinco scored twice against his former club, and Hernan Crespo and Raffaele Palladino had one goal each.

Juve's Fabio Quagliarella left with an apparent knee injury after only three minutes. Then in the 17th, Felipe Melo kicked Parma defender Massimo Paci in the face and was ejected.
