Fiorentina fired Sinisa Mihajlovic and named Delio Rossi his replacement, as the Italian club hopes to recover from their poor start to the Serie A season.

Fiorentina lost to Chievo on Sunday, and has just 12 points from 10 games this season. Fiorentina is just four points above the relegation zone.

Mihajlovic took over Fiorentina in 2010, but last season's ninth-place finish as well as the slow start this season ended his stint after 15 months.

Rossi coached Palermo last season, leading the club for two different stints, and the 51-year-old previously managed Lazio, Atalanta, Lecce and Genoa, among other clubs.
