St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays have placed first baseman James Loney on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured middle finger on his left hand, the team announced Monday.

Loney, who both throws and hits left-handed, sustained the injury during Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics. He previously spent time on the disabled list in April with a strained right oblique muscle.

In 30 games this season, Loney is hitting .275 with two home runs and 11 RBI.

In addition to Loney, shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera (mild left groin strain) and outfielder Steven Souza Jr. (left wrist sprain) exited Sunday's game and are day-to-day.

The Rays also recalled infielders Tim Beckham and Jake Elmore from Triple-A Durham and optioned pitcher Preston Guilmet to Durham.
