St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays announced left- handed reliever Jeff Beliveau will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will miss the remainder of the 2015 season.

The 28-year-old Beliveau says he experienced a dead-arm phase during spring training, and it was not improving as the regular season began. In five appearances, he allowed four runs in 2 2/3 innings.

The Rays transferred Beliveau from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL. They also placed second baseman Ryan Brett on the 15-day DL with a shoulder subluxation and added infielder Jake Elmore from Triple-A Durham to the roster.

Brett is the 11th player the Rays have placed on the disabled list this season.
