Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis said in a statement Tuesday that he is making "some progress" as he recovers from a toe injury, and wants to play Thursday against San Francisco.

Lewis missed Sunday's game against Cincinnati with the injury, snapping his consecutive games played streak at 57. He hadn't missed a game since the 2007 season.

"I am doing everything in my power to get back as fast as I can, whether that's this week, next week or whenever it is, I am doing everything I can to be out there with my team," Lewis' statement said. "I want to play Thursday night, and I am making some progress."

Lewis missed practice all last week, but was a limited participant Monday. He skipped his regular session with the media to get treatment on his foot, the statement said.
