PSV captain Toivonen signs extension

Eindhoven, Netherlands – PSV Eindhoven captain Ola Toivonen year contract extension with the club on Wednesday that keeps him there until 2014.

Toivonen's initial contract was set to expire in June, but the Sweden international has increased his stay with the team by two further seasons despite being linked with a move to the English Premiership recently.

The 25-year-old joined PSV from Malmo in January 2009 and was named captain prior to the start of this season.

Since his arrival at the club Toivonen has tallied 40 goals in 86 league appearances.
