Bremen, Germany – Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has completed a permanent move to Werder Bremen, it was announced on Monday.
Papastathopoulos has spent this season on loan with the Bundesliga side and the club's director of sport, Klaus Allofs, revealed that Bremen has decided to activate an option that would make the move permanent.
The 23-year-old has been a key member of Bremen's side this campaign, scoring one goal in 28 league starts for a club that is chasing a place in the Europa League.
