Missouri State has changed the starting time of its 2012 football home opener against Murray State on Sept. 15 to 7 p.m. locally (8 p.m. ET).

It will be the Bears' first home night game since Sept. 4, 2008.

"We are working to enhance the overall gameday experience for our students and our fans and want to begin that process with the home opener," Missouri State athletic director Kyle Moats said. "This is a unique community event and a chance for our football program to play a rare night game at Plaster Field."

When the two teams last met on Oct. 9, 2010, they combined to break an NCAA Division I FCS record with 1,423 offensive yards in Murray State's 72-59 win.
