Missouri star defensive end Shane Ray has been ejected from the SEC championship game against Alabama following a hit on quarterback Blake Sims.

Ray hit Sims immediately after he threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to DeAndrew White in the second quarter of Saturday's game. The hit drew a chorus of boos from Crimson Tide fans when a replay was shown on the video boards at the Georgia Dome.

Officials immediately threw a flag and called a personal foul on Ray for targeting. Officials upheld the personal foul ruling following a video review and Ray was escorted off the field.

Ray leads the Southeastern Conference with 13 1/2 sacks and 20 1/2 tackles for loss. He set a Missouri record for sacks in a season.
