COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri defensive lineman Jimmy Burge has been cited for drinking while driving.
Sophomore Jimmy Burge was pulled over by Columbia police late Saturday after making an illegal left turn. Police say they found an open beer in Burge's truck. His blood-alcohol content was below the legal limit, but the 21-year-old was issued misdemeanor citations for the alcohol offense and illegal turn.
Officials at No. 24 Missouri declined to discuss any possible disciplinary action. Burge was not listed on the team's two-deep depth chart released Monday.
Two other Missouri players each missed two games after earlier arrests on drunken-driving charges. An assistant coach received undisclosed team sanctions after his arrest on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. And captain Derrick Washington was kicked off the team and faces criminal charges of felony sexual assault and domestic violence.
