Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Marlins placed pitcher Henderson Alvarez on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right shoulder inflammation.
Alvarez landed on the DL a day after allowing four runs and seven hits over five innings in an 8-5 loss to Tampa Bay.
Infielder Don Kelly and catcher Jeff Mathis were also placed on the 15-day DL after suffering injuries in Sunday's game. Kelly fractured a finger while fielding a ground ball and Mathis suffered a fractured right hand when he was struck by a foul tip.
The Marlins recalled catcher J.T. Realmuto, pitcher Carter Capps and infielder Reid Brignac from Triple-A Nashville. Pitcher Aaron Crow was transferred to the 60-day DL to make room on the roster for Brignac.
