Miami, FL – The Florida Marlins optioned left fielder Logan A New Orleans and released infielder Wes Helms following 0 loss to the San Francisco Giants.
Morrison has a .249 average with 17 home runs and 60 RBI in 95 games with Florida this season.
Helms, a 13-year veteran, has struggled this year, batting just .191 with six runs batted in through 69 games for the club.
Florida is expected to announce corresponding roster moves prior to Sunday's game against the Giants.
