Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel left Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers after suffering a hamstring injury late in the first half.

Manziel rolled to his left and dove for the sideline on the first play of Cleveland's fourth possession when he was hit hard by two Panthers defenders.

He went to the locker room early and was ruled out of the game. Brian Hoyer, who Manziel replaced following a Week 14 loss to the Colts, took over at quarterback.

Manziel's struggles in his NFL debut last week were well documented, and the former Heisman winner didn't fare much better in three-plus drives against Carolina. He completed 3-of-8 passes for 32 yards and the Browns went three- and-out in three of those four possessions.
