Tommie Sykes scored a career-high 32 points and Louisiana-Monroe blew out Union College (Ky.) 87-66 on Tuesday night.

Sykes, who made all 9 of his field goal attempts and 14 of 18 free-throws, also had five rebounds and four steals.

Hugh Mingo added 14 points to reach double figures for the 13th straight game. Lawrence Gilbert scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Fred Brown chipped in 13 points for the Warhawks (5-11), who shot 57.7 percent from the floor (30 of 52).

The Bulldogs (6-9), who play in the NAIA, were led by Turrell Morris with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Payton Ponzer added 13 points.

ULM led by as many as 25, 51-26, in the opening half and 55-32 at halftime thanks to a 58.6-percent shooting performance (17 of 29).

Union pulled to within 13, 70-57, with 7 minutes to go, but the Warhawks scored the next 11 points to put the game away.
