The Los Angeles Kings have been fined $100,000 by the NHL after suspended defenseman Slava Voynov participated in a team workout Tuesday.

Voynov was charged with felony domestic violence two weeks ago. The Russian Olympian is barred from all team activities under the terms of his suspension, which began after his arrest on Oct. 20.

Voynov took the ice at the Kings' training complex for their morning skate Tuesday before their game against the Boston Bruins. Voynov then stayed on the ice when the rest of the team arrived, participating in what the team claimed was an optional workout.

Voynov is allowed to use the team's workout facilities by himself while suspended, and he is allowed to skate after Kings practices under the supervision of an assistant coach.
