Livorno, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Livorno fired manager Davide Nicola on Monday following a 3-0 home defeat to Parma over the weekend, the club's fourth successive defeat.

Livorno president, Aldo Spinelli, also confirmed that Attilio Perotti will take charge of the team with Perotti having last managed Livorno at the end of the 2011-12 season.

"I like Davide a lot, but recently he has committed a few mistakes," Spinelli said in La Gazzetta dello Sport. "The team have switched off, they don't have any determination and, when they fall behind, they don't react. We needed to change things."

Nicola leaves his post with Livorno in 19th place, three points from safety, and Perotti will now be charged with helping the club avoid relegation, which he successfully achieved in his last stint at Livorno.

Perotti's first game in charge comes on Saturday at second-place Roma.
