Lewandowski leads the way as Bayern tops Eintracht

Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Robert Lewandowski scored a goal in each half and Thomas Muller added a third as Bayern Munich rolled to a 3-0 win over Eintracht at the Allianz Arena on Saturday to take another step toward clinching a third successive Bundesliga title.

Lewandowski was on target for Bayern after 15 minutes, and he added a second goal in the 66th before Muller sealed the victory with a goal eight minutes from time, keeping Bayern 10 points clear of second-place Wolfsburg with six games remaining.

Muller set up the opening goal by picking out Lewandowski, but it took a fantastic volley from the Poland international to beat goalkeeper Kevin Trapp at his top left corner.

Bayern thought a second goal arrived shortly before halftime when Muller had the ball in the net. However, it was ruled out for a debatable offsides decision.

Mario Gotze nearly doubled the advantage on the hour mark when his shot struck the left post, but the hosts didn't have to wait long as another effort from Gotze was blocked into the path of Lewandowski, allowing him to knock home his 16th goal of the campaign.

Eintracht offered little going forward and the visitors yielded a third goal in the 82nd minute with Muller scoring from a tight angle to cap a dominant win.

Wolfsburg kept pace with a 2-0 win at Hamburg as Joshua Guilavogui scored 10 minutes into the match and Daniel Caligiuri added a second goal in the 73rd, leaving Hamburg four points from safety.

Monchengladbach maintained its hold on third place by knocking off Borussia Dortmund, 3-1, behind first-half goals from Oscar Wendt and Raffael, while fourth-place Bayer Leverkusen stayed within two points following a 3-2 victory at Mainz.

Paderborn claimed a huge 2-1 win over Augsburg to move to within two points of safety as a goal from Srdjan Lakic on the hour mark proved to be the winner and Schalke's Champions League hopes took another hit as the club was held to a 0-0 draw at home by Freiburg, leaving Schalke 10 points adrift of a top-four place.
