KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Kyle Busch has wrecked hard at Kansas Speedway, not only continuing his history of disasters at the track but also dealing a crippling blow to his Chase chances.
Busch has wrecked out of the last three Sprint Cup races at Kansas. He had to go to a backup car for Sunday's race after tearing up his primary car in practice, and then had trouble getting up to speed. The team flew in a new transmission that was late arriving Sunday.
Busch, who was third in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, had to start at the back of the field. He was spun out by Juan Pablo Montoya early in the race, and then was turned head-on into the wall in Turn 1 to end his day.
