MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin forward Duje Dukan must sit out the first two games of the season for the No. 3 Badgers following a review of the senior's eligibility.
The school said Wednesday that the issue stems from the 2012-13 season, when Dukan played limited minutes in an exhibition game and a closed scrimmage at the beginning of that year.
Dukan was recovering from mononucleosis at that time and decided after the two contests to take the rest of the season to recover. But Dukan did not qualify for a medical hardship waiver.
Wisconsin said Dukan did nothing wrong.
The 6-foot-10 Dukan is a key player off the bench. He averaged 2.8 points and 8 minutes a game last season.
