VanDyke Jones ran for three touchdowns, and The Citadel rushed for more than 300 yards to beat Furman 42-20 on Saturday.

The Citadel (7-4, 5-3 Southern Conference) had more rushing yards than the Paladins' total offensive yardage. The Bulldogs rushed for 309 yards on 47 carries, while Furman had 298 total yards.

The Citadel trailed 17-14 late in the second quarter but pulled ahead on Jones' 14-yard touchdown run with 1:12 left in the half. The Bulldogs never trailed again and was able to pull away from Furman (3-8, 2-6).

Ben Dupree led the Bulldogs with 84 yards rushing on 12 carries and a touchdown. Jones, who ran for 74 yards on eight carries, also had rushing scores of 25 and 7 yards.

Dalton Trevino scored on a 17-yard run in the third quarter for The Citadel.

Jerodis Williams ran for 103 yards on 18 carries for the Paladins.
