Eddie Johnson will to return to Major League Soccer, as Todd Durbin, Executive Vice President of Competition and Player Relations, announced in a conference call with media members that the United States international has signed with the league..

Per league rules, Johnson will enter the league's allocation process. According to Durbin, the forward will know his new destination by Thursday.

Chivas USA currently holds the top spot in the allocation process, followed by the Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC, and Chicago Fire.

Johnson, 27, is no stranger to Major League Soccer. He was drafted by Dallas in 2001, making 84 appearances and recording 24 goals in his five years with the club. Johnson moved to Kansas City in 2006, playing two seasons before signing with English Premier League club Fulham.
