Charles Jenkins scored 23 points and David Imes added a career-high 20 to lead Hofstra to a 75-69 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Drexel on Monday night.

Jenkins, who came in averaging 23.5 points per game, had a subpar shooting night for the Pride (8-5, 2-0), making 5 of 14 from the field after averaging 60 percent through Hofstra's first 12 games. Imes, a sophomore forward who was averaging 6.8 points, helped pick up the slack by making all eight of his shots.

Jenkins did most of his damage from the free-throw line, making 11 of 12, including 5 of 6 in the final 3:17.

Samme Givens had 25 points and eight rebounds to lead the Dragons (9-3, 1-1), who had won seven of their previous eight games.

Hofstra took the lead for good, 63-62, on two free throws by Shemiye McLendon with 1:55 remaining. A layup by Jenkins made it 65-62.
