The Jacksonville Jaguars signed running back Albert Young and waived safety Terrell Whitehead on Tuesday.

Young spent the last three seasons in Minnesota after latching on as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2008. He appeared in three games with the Vikings in 2010, rushing for 29 yards on 13 carries, before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Whitehead, a second-year Norfolk State product, suffered a shoulder injury in Friday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. He will revert to the Jaguars' injured reserve list if he clears waivers.
