Jacksonville, FL – Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert received 15 stitches for a cut on his right hand.
Gabbert, who was sacked six times during a 28-2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, sustained the injury while he was being tackled with under two minutes remaining.
He came into the game questionable because of a hairline fracture in his right thumb. Gabbert hurt the thumb in a preseason game Aug. 17.
Gabbert completed 16-of-35 passes for 121 yards with a pair of interceptions.
Chad Henne replaced Gabbert in the closing two minutes and he nearly led the Jaguars to a touchdown, but a throw on 4th-and-goal went awry in the end zone.
