Kwame Morgan scored 30 points to lead Hampton over Maryland-Eastern Shore 78-66 on Monday night.

Morgan was 10 of 19 from the field, including 8 of 14 from 3-point range. The Pirates (17-5, 7-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shot 9 of 25 from beyond the arc, with Christopher Tolson making Hampton's only other 3.

Hampton trailed 51-50 with 10:28 left before outscoring the Hawks (4-17, 1-7) 21-5 over the next 6:05. Charles Funches' jumper put the Pirates up 71-56 with 4:23 to go.

The Pirates scored 27 points off 19 turnovers, while turning it over 13 times themselves and dishing out 19 assists. Brandon Tunnell led Hampton with 12 assists.

Christopher Tolson added 11 points and Danny Agbelese grabbed 11 rebounds for Hampton, which has won 16 out of its last 17 meetings against the Hawks.

Maryland-Eastern Shore was led by Hillary Haley with 20 points.
