Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is on pace to break the single-season record for All-Star votes.

Hamilton had 5,414,880 votes in the latest balloting update provided by Major League Baseball on Monday. Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista set the mark last year with 7,454,753 votes.

Curtis Granderson of the New York Yankees and Bautista are second and third in voting for the AL outfield.

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has received the second-highest number of votes in the AL with 3,359,875 while three other Rangers -- second baseman Ian Kinsler, third baseman Adrian Beltre and catcher Mike Napoli -- also lead their positions.

Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder and Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz also top the voting in their categories.

The All-Star Game will be played July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
