East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have placed running back Peyton Hillis on injured reserve because of a concussion.

Hillis suffered his second concussion in as many seasons last Sunday in a loss to Seattle. He also had a concussion last December in a loss to the Seahawks.

In nine games this season, Hillis ran for 115 yards on 26 carries and added 10 catches for 87 yards.

The Giants expect to have running back Rashad Jennings back in the lineup for Sunday's game against San Francisco. He missed the previous four games with a knee injury.

To fill Hillis' roster spot, the Giants promoted linebacker Justin Anderson from the practice squad.
