Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta thought the fractured hip he sustained in training camp last year might end his NFL career.

Pitta made it back on the field in December, and now he's got a new five-year, $32 million contract that fulfills his wish to play with Baltimore rather than become a free agent.

Pitta agreed to terms last week. Speaking Wednesday at a news conference to announce the deal, he said, "To be able to sit here now, to have an opportunity to be on the field and be with this team for a few more years to come, it's a blessing."

Coach John Harbaugh says signing Pitta was "right at the top of the list" of the Ravens' offseason priorities.
