Evan Fjeld had 16 points and nine rebounds as Vermont cruised to a 72-51 win over Hartford on Tuesday night.

Brendan Bald added 14 points, nine in the first half, Joey Accaoui added 10 points and Brian Voelkel had 10 rebounds and four assists for the Catamounts (15-5, 6-2 America East Conference), who have won three straight and four of their last five games.

Vermont jumped out to a 24-13 lead, but the Hawks (7-13, 4-3) scored seven points in the last 1:08 before halftime to trail 30-26 at the break.

Bald hit a jumper and Matt Glass made a layup to open the second half and Hartford could get no closer than six the rest of the way. The Catamounts outshot the Hawks 54.2 percent (13 of 24) to 32.8 percent (9 of 28) after halftime.

Vermont also took a 46-28 rebounding edge.

Milton Burton paced Hartford with 17 points and Morgan Sabia had 12 points and nine boards.
