New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Princeton quarterback Quinn Epperly and Harvard defensive end Zach Hodges were named the Asa S. Bushnell Cup winners as the Ivy League football players of the year on Monday.

Epperly captured the Ivy League's offensive player of the year award, while Hodges was named the defensive player of the year. Both are juniors.

Epperly, from Knoxville, Tenn., rewrote portions of both the Ivy and Princeton record books as the Tigers finished 8-2 and earned a share of the league title. He accounted for a league-record 43 touchdowns, matching the school's single-season passing touchdown record of Doug Butler (25, 1983) and coming within one of matching the school's single-season rushing touchdown record of Keith Elias (19, 1994).

Hodges, from Atlanta, helped Harvard finish 9-1 and earn a share of the Ivy title. He made 40 tackles, including 11.5 stops for a loss, and recorded 6.5 sacks. He ranked fifth in the nation with four forced fumbles and also recovered three fumbles.

Both players became the eighth recipients at their respective school to win the Bushnell Cup.

Epperly earned the top offensive honors over Brown senior tailback John Spooney, while Princeton senior defensive tackle Caraun Reid was second to Hodges for the defensive player of the year award

This year marked the first multiple finalists from the same team (Epperly and Reid) since the award went to a finalist format in 2010.
