Mike Smith scored 20 points and had a key offensive rebound to lead East Tennessee State past Lipscomb 68-67 on Friday night.

The Buccaneers (13-7, 8-1 Atlantic Sun Conference) saw a 10-point halftime cushion evaporate, but never lost the lead in winning their ninth straight game.

The Bisons tied the score three times in the second half. After ETSU's Isiah Brown hit a foul shot with 18.9 seconds left for 65-62, Smith grabbed the rebound on Brown's second-shot miss.

The Buccaneers pushed the lead to four when Micah Williams made 1 of 2 free throws with 14 seconds to go.

Josh Slater, who led Lipscomb (10-8, 5-4) with 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting, made a layup with 8 seconds left, followed a second later by two more Williams free throws.

Slater's 3 with 1 second on the clock was the final margin.

Adnan Hodzic added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bisons.
