Shanghai, China (SportsNetwork.com) - Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford of Canada captured the pairs gold medal at the 2015 World Figure Skating Championships.
Duhamel and Radford entered the free skate with the lead after winning the short program on Wednesday and also posted the best score Thursday at 144.55 to finish with a two-day total of 221.53.
The couple, who finished seventh at last year's Olympics and third at the 2014 worlds, earned their first world title and became the first Canadians to win pairs gold since Jamie Sale and David Pelletier in 2001.
China's Sui Wenjing and Han Cong started the day in third place and notched the second-best score of the free skate, lifting them to the silver medal with a two-day total of 214.12.
Pang Qing and Tong Jian of China, in their final competition, slipped from second to third for the bronze. Pang and Tong were fourth at the Sochi Games last year and won world gold in 2010 after a silver medal at the Vancouver Olympics.
A third Chinese pair, Peng Cheng and Zhang Hao finished fourth.
The top Americans were Alexa Scimeca and Chris Knierim in seventh place. Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier finished 12th.
