Wolfsburg, Germany – Diego scored twice and Wolfsburg built a three-goal lead inside 33 minutes to cruise to its second win under interim manager Lorenz-Gunther Kostner, 3-1 over Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
Kostner replaced fired Felix Magath after eight games this season, and Wolves won their first match after the change against Dusseldorf, and secured their first home win of the season against Leverkusen.
Wolfsburg is still in the bottom three on just 11 points from 11 matches, but is in the relegation zone only on goal differential. Wolves have more points in three matches under Kostner than it had in eight under Magath.
Leverkusen was unbeaten in 12 straight in all competitions, including a win at Bayern Munich last weekend, but is 12 points off the pace of the leaders after its third Bundesliga loss.
Diego opened the scoring just four minutes into the match at Volkswagen Arena, added his second in the 16th minute and Bas Dost added a third goal for Wolves in the 33rd.
Stefan Kiessling scored in stoppage-time for Leverkusen.
Monchengladbach 4, Greuther Furth 2
Furth, Germany - Martin Stranzl and Patrick Herrmann scored six minutes apart early in the second half as Monchengladbach overcame an early deficit against nine-man Greuther Furth for a 4-2 Bundesliga win Sunday at Trolli Arena.
Oscar Wendt and Thorben Marx also scored for Monchengladbach, which continued its run of good form to climb to eighth in the standings. Since ending a five- game winless run, Gladbach has three wins and a draw in its last five games.
Bernd Nehrig and Edgar Prib scored for Furth, which went down a man after just 12 minutes and had a second player sent off in stoppage time. Furth had tied its last three games, but is winless in eight straight and 17th in the table.
Hannover 4, Stuttgart 2
Stuttgart, Germany - Mohammed Abdellaoue's brace ended a four-goal second half for Hannover, which overcame a two-goal first-half deficit for a 4-2 win over Stuttgart on Sunday at Mercedes Benz Arena in the Bundesliga.
Christian Gentner and Vedad Ibisevic scored before half for Stuttgart, but the visitors rallied as Artur Sobiech and Jan Schlaudraff scored to level the game and Abdellaoue followed with goals in the 68th and 73rd minutes.
Hannover won its second straight game to move to sixth in the standings, while Stuttgart had its four-game unbeaten streak snapped and slipped to 12th.
